Mariquita is powered by wind and muscle. Hauling up the main requires
all hands and a shanty
keeps the crew in sync. Here is a link to a video of the traditional
shanty sung when departing
port and the very one I heard on the Solent from the deck of Mariquita (
with a few variations of course).
