Marine Paintings, Portraits and Figurative Paintings of life on or near the Sea

Represented exclusively by Mystic Seaport...America's Museum of the Sea

Photographer Marc Kurth caught Lady Washington off shore Morro Bay, California
sailing on a fresh breeze with a "bone in her teeth", a sight few ever see.

With a little artistic license I was able to transport her into a spot just off Vashon
Island in Puget Sound.

Frequently I personalize my paintings by adding subtle things which go unnoticed
Lady WA would fly the California State flag on the foremast while in California.
Since our state flag was on the main I painted the family burgee instead
of the California Bear. I wonder who will notice?
