"Blue Scarf"
A painting created in November near Seattle
In this painting I have imagined
Mariquita in the Caribbean far from her home in the Mediterranean.
The late morning sun, the heat, a mild breeze and the Gulfstream come together
to form a huge squall generating engine.
I want the viewer to feel compelled to reach for the sunglasses
In the afternoon the thunder heads will build
and the squalls will come and Mariquita will be safely tucked into the harbor.
These are the days of summer in the 26th latitude
and this painting
transports me there...while back here in Seattle, Steve Poole the weatherman is forecasting snow for
this evening..
